Mabel & Fox - Online Baby & Toddler Retailer - E-commerce Assistant

Mabel & Fox might be small, but we certainly pack a punch! We are a rapidly growing independent, online retailer specialising in Baby & Toddler essentials. Based in South Norwich and established by a Mum on maternity leave in 2015, we have since grown rapidly and have an amazing team of 6 working from our Warehouse & Office in Mulbarton. Due to recent growth we are now looking for a talented and self-motivated individual to join our successful business.

We currently have a position for a full time E-commerce Assistant to join our team based in Mulbarton. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team and will work closely with our Management Team.

Our ideal candidate will be diligent, possess creative writing skills and thrive in a busy working environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • New product listings - Creating and uploading new products to the Mabel & Fox website by taking basic information from suppliers and creating compelling and SEO-friendly product descriptions.
  • Creating product collections - Creating new and updating existing product collections with well written, engaging and SEO-friendly descriptions.
  • Product content - Working closely with our Management Team to ensure all product listings are accurate, extremely well written and adhere to e-commerce best practices.
  • Product listing improvements - Ongoing website maintenance of existing products & collections. Ensuring SEO is utilised with keyword research, descriptions are informative and site merchandising.
  • Product upselling - Creating, maintaining and updating product upselling through shopify apps and product descriptions.
  • Product imagery - Ensuring that product photography and videos are correctly prepared, uploaded and have suitable quality.
  • Website efficiencies - To assist with improving the website, making efficiencies and facilitating a better website speed score.
  • Google merchant - Take a lead on ensuring products are listed correctly in google and troubleshooting existing products.
  • Project work -
  • To take ownership for the retrospective update of a large number of products and collections bringing them up to date and compliant with e-commerce best practices.
  • To assist with expanding our selling platforms to include marketplaces.
  • Building a relationship with Brand marketing teams - Ensuring all online content is up-to-date.
  • Performing regular keyword research - Manually or through the use of analytic tools to not only optimise titles and descriptions, but to also increase product listing SEO rankings.
  • Competitor analysis - Performing basic competitor analysis on comparable products to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Product library - Create, organise and collect information to manage and update the product library.
  • Assisting with stock replenishment and the updating of digital inventory.

Experience & Skills

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year experience in a similar role with an online retailer. In addition, the following skills are prerequisite for a successful candidate:

  • Excellent literacy skills, with a strong grasp of the English language and ability to write with fluency and creativity.
  • A strong eye for detail.
  • I.T literate; must be able to operate Microsoft Office programs including Excel. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to working with new software applications too.
  • Experience with the web platform Shopify is a big plus.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in order to ensure products are listed on our website in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a methodical way, managing your own time to ensure you keep on top of workload.
  • A keen interest and understanding of the Baby & Toddler industry is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well within a team environment.
  • An excellent work ethic, a can do attitude, proactive and desire to learn.
  • Working SEO knowledge is advantageous (not essential as training can be given).

The position is a full-time, permanent position, with office hours 9-5pm Monday to Friday. There may be some flexibility with this and there could be the possibility of some homeworking.
